Exercise doesn't just help you lose weight, it also helps increase your muscle mass. This in turn can improve your ability to play with kids or grandkids so that they don't tire out too quickly! Exercise also increases the amount of oxygen flowing through our body which makes us feel more energised throughout the day. It helps to boost our metabolic rate, making it easier to maintain a healthy weight when eating sensibly. This is because being active increases the number of energy-burning cells in our body called mitochondria which are found in larger numbers if we have higher levels of muscle mass.
Perhaps one of your motivations to get fit is to get rid of that annoying cellulite. Cellulite are just fat cells that are closer to the skin's surface than other fat cells, which is why they appear lumpy. Because of the varied fat, muscle, and connective tissue distribution among men and women, cellulite affects women more than it does men. Not to worry though! So long as you're eating healthy and exercising, your body should produce enough adipose tissue so that cellulite won't be visible. Choose an exercise routine that mixes cardio and strength training. This will help you lose body fat, tone and define your muscles, as well as reduce cellulite. Your physique will appear smoother and firmer if it is more muscular.
There are a host of different exercises for core stability, and while some work better than others, the key is coming up with a good routine and doing it regularly. The best approach involves an assortment of sets and repetitions that change according to your fitness level.
My favourite exercise is the plank. It's easy to do, doesn't require any equipment, builds core strength efficiently and effectively in both men and women.
Put yourself into position on your hands and toes with your back straight like you're about to begin a pushup. Make sure your legs are shoulder-length apart and hold this position for at least 30 seconds, with the goal of reaching 60 seconds or even longer over time.
The plank is easy to do anywhere you can find floor space in your home or office -- just make sure there's enough room between pieces of furniture to allow you to get into the right position.
There are many variations of planks, some more difficult than others, but this is my favourite because it's not only easy to do and doesn't require any equipment or gym membership; It also builds core strength efficiently by engaging your abs, back muscles and even your glutes (butt).
